Abrupt Changes on Battlecam.com
Well, I just got home a few minutes ago after being out all day and apparently a lot of stuff went down earlier that I'm still trying to catch up on in the archives. It appears that as of now, the Manginainc blog is no longer linked from the main page and all challenges offered by Alki are currently suspended along with the Forum being taken down. If I missed any other big changes, let me know.

If you guys read between the lines, What Alki was hoping for was bring in big advertisers to market his site at the user's expense. Conning users to do near illegal stunts with a promise of a reward but find a way to weasel that person out of a reward hence "free advertisements" For example The tattoo challenge with RockaBetty and Moonboots. Alki had written the rules half assed. The way it was written for this challenge was to have battlecam tattooed. In a attempt to save his money, he changes the rule to have battlecam.com tattooed while the artist applied the tattoo stencle to Betty.
And Today, Dude and friend completed the Hollywood Challenge only to have Alki call it a fail. The rules said that they had to make sign ala the Hollywood sign. Just make a Battlecam sigh with he same specs. Dude was sucessful. However Alki swindled Dude, saying Balloons do not count. Then threw in that the sign has to be up for 30 days.
With this kind of scam and the Mods like XSP3NTX and Lily on here making up the rules as they watching, Battlecam will die before it leaves beta.
^^ Well said @ 2:23AM, Lets not forget about the people whom have been in the process of building there sign, the people who have purchased loads of wood,they knew they had time, a deadline date.(example:ChromeTuna) I think its bullshit and very distasteful, you'd think a man with all this so called inherited money would have some class which Alki seems to be lacking.
I hope Alki has let the media know this Obama and Queen escapade of his is over the same way he let them know it was going on and has pulled all his videos down about the challenges. I feel for the people whom got the tattoo's.
IF Alki ever does another challenge I HOPE the rules will be laid out properly the first time and not changed as he feels on his whims.
As of now i feel he's not a very trustworthy man. He's proven this to us all.
i agree with the post here, to give a challenge and then after people start working on it the rules get changed that is low down on alki's part. i for one bought stuff to make a sign and got back home and the rules had changed.
i was only out $20 to get it started for paint, at least i can paint something else white unlike people that have bought wood and other supplies then it went to hell.
alki if you read this its not cool to change the rules of a challenge after its been started. and for the guy that made the sign from balloons i think he should get his money.
i am sure the thought of the SIGN was to draw traffic to the site which would of been great, but with all the rules changed thats not going to happen.
